We were able to catch up with the Rev from The Church of the Big Ring.com this past week for a mini-interview. Check it:

CX Republic: Reverend Big Ring, have you accepted the Big Ring as your personal savior?
Rev: Um…that’s my line.
CX Republic: Oh yea. So we are happy to be partners with you on Team Big Ring. Several podium placings so far including 2 or 3 yourself. From your perspective, how’s it going so far?
Rev: It is divine inspiration, the entire team is punching above their weight. We are dominating the dojo. Blaze hasn’t been arrested (yet). So yeah, things are good.
CX Republic: Sweet. So did you get registered for Cross Nationals or do you get a call up from last year?
Rev: I did get in, no call up for me this year. I have been riding at rush hour, hip checking buses, wrong way on one way streets, out running bike cops. I will get to the front in Bend.
CX Republic: So do you think Nys will be back to his dominating form, or are Niels and Lars going to wear him down this year?
Rev: I think it will be a real battle this year which is good for everyone. I don’t think Sven is ready to step down just yet, to paraphrase Dave Barry, “Age and guile beat youth and watts”
CX Republic: So what else is new?
Rev: Picked up two Santa Cruz Stigmatas this past week, seemed like a good move.
CX Republic: So um…let’s see…whats in the ipod these days to get you jacked up before a race?
Rev: A mix of punk, stoner rock and metal. The usual suspects for me are Fugazi, Lamb of God, Slayer, Black Flag, Fu Manchu. I guess I am kind of old school but it works for me
CX Republic: Any parting words for your fans?
Rev: The Big Ring is not static. If you give it all you got and leave it all out on the course, THAT is Big Ring!
